Kevin Burkhardt is the next Pat Summerall Award honoree. The FOX Sports voice will accept the award during Super Bowl LXI week in Los Angeles.
What We Know: Burkhardt will receive the award February 11, 2027, at the Legends for Charity Dinner benefiting St. Jude. The event takes place at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live, the NFL Headquarters Hotel. Burkhardt joined FOX Sports in 2013 and became its lead NFL play-by-play voice in 2022. Since then, he has called two Super Bowls while also leading FOX’s MLB studio coverage. Past honorees include James Brown, Greg Gumbel, Jim Nantz, Chris Berman, Cris Collinsworth among many others.
What Remains Unclear: The release does not name who will present the award or emcee the evening. Additionally, organizers have not shared a fundraising target for the 2027 dinner.
What It Means: The honor carries extra weight for Kevin Burkhardt. After all, Summerall once held FOX’s lead NFL chair at one time. Moreover, Burkhardt joins a list that includes fellow current and former FOX Sports talent such as Michael Strahan, Joe Buck, John Madden, Erin Andrews, and Howie Long. Most importantly, Legends for Charity has now raised nearly $16 million for St. Jude over 20 years.
